PDF to XLSX Online — What We Do (and Do Not) Upload-Free

Searching for PDF to Excel or PDF to XLSX online usually means a converter that uploads your PDF. This site is different: editing stays in your browser. We do not rebuild PDF tables into a new .xlsx here — and we will not pretend we do.

Want PDF to XLSX free online? Many sites will upload the PDF and promise a spreadsheet. Does this tool upload? No on the local path. Does it convert PDF tables into Excel? No — and that honesty matters for payroll, invoices, and contracts.

What you can do here instead

  1. Open the PDF locally — read, search, and annotate with no upload (Open PDF).
  2. If you still have the original .xlsx — open and edit it in the spreadsheet engine (Open XLSX).
  3. If you need Excel online free without 365 — use the local workbook path (Excel without Microsoft 365).
  4. Going the other direction — export a real spreadsheet to PDF on-device (XLSX to PDF).

How the local PDF path works

  1. Click Open a PDF locally (or use Open PDF).
  2. Pick the .pdf from your device — it is read into the tab, not uploaded.
  3. Read, search, or annotate; download the PDF again if you need the annotations saved.
  4. For editable cells and formulas, open the source .xlsx instead of expecting a PDF rebuild.

Why we do not fake PDF → XLSX

PDF is a fixed layout. Spreadsheets are live grids with formulas. “PDF to Excel” converters often guess columns on a server. This product’s OnlyOffice PDF mode is built for viewing and annotating PDFs in WebAssembly — not for inventing a workbook from a scan or a multi-column layout. Claiming otherwise would waste your time and break the privacy story.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert PDF to XLSX here?

No. This editor does not extract PDF tables into a new .xlsx. Use a dedicated converter only if you accept its upload and accuracy trade-offs — or open the original spreadsheet if you have it.

Is my PDF uploaded if I open it here?

No on the local path. The PDF engine runs in your browser tab.

Is local editing free?

Yes. Opening PDF or XLSX on this device needs no account.

What if I only have a PDF of a spreadsheet?

Open the PDF privately here to read it. For editable formulas you need the source .xlsx (or another tool that truly rebuilds grids — knowing that usually means an upload).

Can I go XLSX → PDF instead?

Yes. Open the workbook and export PDF locally — see Convert XLSX to PDF.
